How the TV Value Signal works
The Value Signal is a comparison metric for the listed attributes of a TV. It helps shoppers organize options; it is not a laboratory picture-quality rating, expert review, or guarantee that one TV is best for every person.
Inputs used
Formula
price per square inch = current price ÷ screen area
value signal = weighted combination of the five normalized inputs
final score = rounded to a 0–100 comparison scale
How to interpret it
- A larger TV may have a lower price per square inch while a smaller TV of the same resolution may have higher PPI.
- Technology labels describe the listing; they do not capture every difference in brightness, contrast, processing, viewing angle, or motion handling.
- A discount percentage depends on the reference price supplied by the source and should not be treated as proof of a historical low.
- Scores are most useful when comparing similar sizes, resolutions, and intended uses.
Disclaimer: The Value Signal is only a shopping comparison metric based on available product attributes. It may contain incomplete, delayed, or incorrectly supplied data. Confirm the exact model, final price, stock, shipping, warranty, membership requirements, and return terms at the retailer before purchasing.
Affiliate independence
